Happy New Year! Reject Diets!

This blog will serve as a vehicle to post noteworthy nutrition articles that encompasses my philosophy of mind, body & spirit. In today's society, nutrition is a hot topic, and rightly so.  However, are news outlets and social media giving us the whole picture when they present the headlines?  Not all the time.  I'm a firm believer in educating yourself before making a decision.  So to help, I'm providing thought provoking articles and references that can help in your decision making--whatever that decision may be.  

For my very first post I'm sharing an article I came across that quotes an author that has greatly influenced my career and who I am as a person. Evelyn Tribole, co-author of Intuitive Eating rejects the diet mentality and instead listens to the body for guidance (i.e. hunger cues).  This article hits now because...well....it's the New Year! And that means new diets!  So my challenge to you this New Year (when it comes to nutrition and if you are a constant dieter), can you give up the New Year's resolutions of dropping 10 pounds this year? Can you take it day by day and focus on other things besides food?  Can you begin living life and find happiness (did you really find happiness when on a diet?).  So this challenge isn't going to be easy.  Trust me, I've done it. But it's eye opening and you will learn a lot about who you are as a person.  It's life changing!
